North Park School District, home of the Wildcats, serves approximately between 120-140 students in grades PK-12 in any given year due to fluctuations in enrollment. The district has experienced a gradual decline in enrollment over the years. Located in a high mountain valley in Jackson County, Colorado, the district serves the entire county, surrounded by mountain peaks. Most students reside in the county seat of Walden, Colorado, while others live on remote cattle ranches throughout the county.

Serving a predominantly agricultural community, Career and Technical Education is central to the district's mission. North Park strives to prepare students for their chosen futures while addressing local needs. The district fosters a close-knit community, with relationships lasting for years due to all students being housed together. Teacher recruitment is challenging, so the district focuses on developing its own workforce through mentorship and relationship-building. The school building, 60+ years old, has been well-maintained but presents challenges for improvements due to the presence of asbestos, common in buildings of that age. Currently the District is working toward a plan to improve the facilities.

North Park students, staff, and families are highly valued. The dedicated and skilled staff pour their energy into students daily. The District's vision is, “We Are North Park: Empowered, Engaged, and Equipped for Life!” reflects our commitment to fostering a supportive and collaborative environment that prepares students for success in all aspects of life. The Strategic Purpose outlines three goals, each with strategic action steps which describes our commitment to creating learning environments where members of the the community are:

2. Engaged: To work collaboratively with families and the community to ensure members feel connected, purposeful, and joyful
3. Equipped: To become a district of distinction by developing the whole child so that every student experiences a personalized and rigorous educational program.
