Abigail (Abby) McNiven

I am excited to serve as the school counselor at North Park! I earned my B.S. in Psychology from Brigham Young University and my M.S. in School Counseling from the University of Wyoming. My educational background includes both school and community mental health counseling, and I am passionate about supporting students in their academic, social, and emotional growth. I look forward to partnering with families and staff to help every student thrive.

Why come see me? Students can stop by my office for all sorts of reasons. Sometimes it’s to navigate a specific challenge, like friendship drama, stress at home, or feeling anxious, and other times, they just need a quiet space to talk. Whether you advocate for yourself and drop in, or a teacher or parent suggests a visit, know that my door is open. I also make a point to try to do random check-ins just to see how everyone is doing!

What to expect: I’m here to listen. We’ll work together to explore your options, build new coping strategies, and find solutions that actually fit your life. Every student is different, so I strive to create a space that allows students to discuss what they need and what they want.

Please reach out! I would love to hear from you!
